Universal Music Group first started in 1999  by changing their previous name from MCA Music Publishing is renamed - Universal Music Group.

 Over the years the Universal Music Group have grown progressively and very quickly which is now the largest American music corporation. Universal Music Group owns the Universal Music Publishing Group which is the second largest music publishing company in the world.  The Universal Music Groups have over 77 licences and owned record operations over America and in Europe another big division of Universal Music Group in the Universal Music UK.

Many labels that are owned by Universal Music's labels in the UK include Decca, Polydor, Virgin, Fiction and Island. They own the biggest selling artists such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Mumford & Sons, Justin Bieber, Florence + the Machine, Eminem and Take That. See the link attached to see more Artists included.
